Arts Night Mainstreet Defuniak
It was a beautiful day and awesome evening! Our local vendors started off the day on Baldwin Avenue with Main Street Farmers Market for fresh produce. Then to end the day with the exciting and anticipated DeFuniak Springs Downtown Arts Night. There was 30+ vendors of all types of art, artisans with hand made, hand crafted jewelry and other items, craftsmen with woodworking and other hand honed items, and a few surprises. Chef Ernie cooked up some beignets, Mack Bailey had his mouth watering BBQ, Tory Wells had fresh gourmet lemonade and Cultural Arts Alliance was offering adult beverages. CAA is an advocate and force behind many successful art and cultural events in Walton County. They desire to be a presence in DeFuniak Springs as well where there are many talented artists, artisans and craftsman.
Many of our downtown Baldwin businesses stayed open for the evening activities just for your pleasure. Perla was serving a wonderful coffee brewed to your liking and cheesecake, heading down the street and wander into Fisher's Pharmacy gift boutique and meet a couple of book authors and say hello to Cindy at Nook & Cranny. Bogey's had a street vibe going on with music from their balcony. Kids enjoyed the kid zone where my Art Bus and face paint booth were set up. They also had fun games to choose from. Everyone was able to enjoy an adult beverage, sit a while and listen to three Nashville quality entertainers, Mike Whitty and the Sand Ole Opry, the great Forrest Williams Band and literally from Nashville Micah Mulscher, who ahs been on all the late night shows like Conan O'Brian, the the TV show "Nashville" and so many others and has played with Margo Price and Wanda Jackson to name a couple of the dozens he has played with.
The fun was from 4:00 - 8:00 pm on historic Baldwin Avenue! Can’t wait to come out next year!
