Paint Pop Up Craw-fest
For the past few years I have collaborated with Chef Ernie with Cafe Nola to put on his “Block Party” Craw fest to celebrate the Mardi Gras season! I usually bring out the art bus for the kids and adults, but this year I wanted to try out a “Paint Pop Up” event! Since most of our attendees are adults who are enjoying the crawfish boil and drinks, I wanted a open creative space for them. There was a costume contest, music, crawfish boil, and specials.
I planned to be out setup outside with 20 seats, but you know ole Florida weather wanted to change its mind and rain all day. Luckily I had my usual sip&Paint room available to set up inside. The party was going strong until 3pm! I had some kids come paint some cute spring scenes and some adults use the mardi gras stencils to continue the Mardi Gra theme! It was a freestyle expression session!
The costume contest kicked off at 2pm. Everyone who participated strut their stuff down the middle of the restaurant for the crowd to see. There was a special guests for judging. The winner had a fantastic sparkling fringe top and glitter everywhere!
All in all, it was a good time and I can’t wait to do another Paint Pop Up!
